Laura Mangiavini

Bio

Dr. Laura Mangiavini is an orthopaedic surgeon, but she’s always also been interested in basic research on cartilage and bone. Thus, after graduation and specialization, she spent few years in Ernestina Schipani’s laboratory where she deepened her knowledge in cartilage and bone development working on transgenic mouse models. Back in Italy, she is an attending surgeon at IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi and she is also actively working in the lab on the development of novel strategies for cartilage and bone tissue engineering.
