Bio

Van Thi Nguyen completed Master and Phd program at Lab of Regenererative Medicine – University of Genova (Italy) under the supervision of prof Ranieri Cancedda. She is interested in the field of human orthopedic regeneration and participated in a project that evaluated the regeneration ability of cartilage and chondrocytes when they were cultured with human platelet lysate (PL) – a cocktail of growth factors and biomolecules. In this study, based on obtained statistic results, she found that PL could become a potential candidate in treatment of injured cartilage. Follow her passion in the field, from October 2017, she has joined Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi. Her main research focuses on investigating stemness of population of Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSC) derived from differently operational sites in hip replacement surgery, that may result in finding the best source of MSC for bone regeneration.
