Evaluation of biological products for regenerative medicine

Following the advancement of the research in the field of Mesenchymal Stem/Stromal Cells (MSCs) and regenerative medicine, a number of commercially available products have been recently released in the market. Our Lab developed a number of different in vitro models to characterize these kind of products in term of cell yield and release of biochemical stimuli (e.g. growth factors and cytokines). In particular, we collaborate with different industries for the assessment of platelet concentrates and adipose tissue derived products, in the form of stromal vascular fraction (SVF) or micro-fragmented adipose tissue, as well as platelet rich plasma (PRP).

The OBL is the main scientific partner of REGAIN (REgenerative GAleazzi INstitute), the center for applied regenerative medicine recently launched within the Galeazzi Institute (https://galeazzi.grupposandonato.it/regain-regenerative-galeazzi-institute.html). This partnership has promoted further advancements in this field, allowing us to collaborate more closely with clinicians for the evaluation of regenerative medicine-based products, thanks to the longitudinal collection of clinical data coupled with the basic research aspects.
