Talò Giuseppe, Ph.D.


Since 2008, Giuseppe Talò, a Biomedical Engineer, has been working as a Research Fellow at the Cell and Tissue Engineering Lab at the IRCCS Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute in Milan, Italy. In 2007, he graduated in Biomedical Engineering with a thesis on developing a dynamic bioreactor suitable for creating aortic valve constructs from decellularized human homografts at IRCCS Centro Cardiologico “Monzino.” He also collaborated with the Politecnico of Milan – Department of Bioengineering from 2007 to 2008.

Giuseppe’s primary research activities focus on Tissue Engineering. These include the development of perfusion bioreactors equipped with sensors, the creation of biosensors for real-time monitoring of the permeability of 3D cultured tissue in bioreactors, the design of bioreactors for evaluating the effects of complex biomechanical stimuli on engineered cartilage, muscle, tendon tissue and the creation of microfluidic devices and devices for in vitro models of 3D biological tissues. Additionally, he is involved in vascularized bone tissue engineering projects and is proficient in rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies.
